Professional Programme

Qualify as an Enneagram Professional

We teach in the Narrative Tradition, using programmes developed by The Narrative Enneagram, and we are one of their International Certifying Schools.

There are two Professional Pathways:

Foundation + Typing Training + Panel & Teacher training
Foundation + Typing Training + One to one Practitioner Training

Each involves 16 days of training, plus a minimum of 30 hours of supervised work during your internships, plus, typically, 60 hours of private study.

Programme Pathways

You can start a Professional Pathway once you have completed two of the
three Enneagram Training Foundation workshops: the Intensive, plus one other
(you need to complete all three before certification can be given).

We also welcome applications from people who have completed an equivalent Foundation Programme elsewhere, so if you have started your training with another school and would like to continue with us, please do contact us to discuss how we can help you.

Certified Enneagram Typing Practitioner

Through this training you learn how to interview people effectively to help them discover their Enneagram type. This is the core skill for every professional who works with the Enneagram.

In this training you learn how to:

create and maintain a safe session space and work with your own type bias.
conduct an exploratory conversation that leaves the participant excited about the Enneagram and keen to find out more.
use a robust process with incisive questions, which takes account of non-verbals, mimics, energy, use of words etc. of the nine types.
identify type look-alikes and how to separate them.

Typing Practitioner - Programme Structure

Online training in Typing Process skills (4 x 4 hour sessions 09.30 – 13.30)
Minimum of 16 practice interviews, of which 9 are recorded and reviewed with an Enneagram Training supervisor.
Written review, also discussed with your supervisor, where you deepen your knowledge and understanding of Enneagram topics.

The Continuing Professional Development hours for this training are 83 hours. On successful completion of these activities you will receive a certificate as a Certified Enneagram Typing Practitioner. This confirms your competence to conduct typing sessions (Note: this is not a qualification in teaching the Enneagram).

Cerftified Enneagram Panel Facilitator and Teacher

The Enneagram in the Narrative Tradition teaches experientially, through group and individual workshop activities, attention and body practices. This training builds essential skills and practice at facilitating workshops to learn about the Enneagram, whether in a corporate setting with business teams or for personal development groups on a psychological and/or spiritual path.

An essential aspect when running Narrative Tradition trainings is the ability to facilitate panels, which enable participants to have a visceral experience of how different the type energies are from each other, and to reflect and work on their own growth journey (see below for more information on panels).

Panel Facilitator and Teacher - Programme Structure

You start with a 3 day online workshop, where you learn and practise the basic skills of panel and workshop facilitation.
Supervised panel facilitation and teaching practice support you to prepare and facilitate practice panels and workshop sessions, and review them with your supervisor.
Assessment is through recording an additional panel and workshop session, which is reviewed with an Enneagram Training core faculty member.

Continuous Professional Development hours for this training are 92 hours.

On successful completion of these activities you will receive a certificate as a Certified Enneagram Panel Facilitator and Teacher. Your supervisor will continue to support you during your first panel interviews and workshops after you qualify.

Who can attend

You can enrol for Panel Facilitator and Teacher training once you have completed both the Foundation Programme and your Typing Practitioner Training. We welcome students who have successfully completed their Foundation Programme and Typing Practitioner at another Narrative Tradition School – do contact us to discuss.

A note about Panels

In the Narrative Tradition, we believe that people learn most deeply when they find and work things out for themselves: when they notice their own experience and reflect on what it means.

In a Panel, 2-6 people who identify with the same type talk about their experiences in response to questions from an Enneagram practitioner. Through compassionate and gentle questioning and reflection, panellists realise that their unconscious beliefs are not universal, as do those observing the panel. There are moments of silence and awareness as realisation of the differences between peoples’ perceptions sink in. Insights and solutions to problems often surface with remarkable clarity and new beliefs and more effective behaviours are generated.

Certified Enneagram One-to-One Practitioner

Are you already enrolled on or have you completed training in counselling, coaching, psychotherapy, spiritual direction or another discipline where you accompany clients 1:1 on a growth journey?

Do you want to learn skills and practices for using the Enneagram in one-to-one settings, while also deepening your own personal journey with the Enneagram?

The Certified One-to-one Practitioner training enables you to:

Explore the key principles of using the Enneagram in a one-to-one context.
Learn transformational models to use in your practice.
Develop effective life-changing strategies and interventions for each type.
Carry out 1:1 practice sessions and receive feedback.
Work with your own type bias and growth edge as a practitioner.
Build skills in self-reflection, self-observation and receptive awareness.

The One-to-One Programme Structure

You start with a 3-day training workshop (online).
Over the following months you practise your skills, and take part in 5 online Supervision Group meetings led by an Enneagram Training Core Faculty member. Here you explore relevant topics about the Enneagram, present and discuss client case journeys and receive feedback from the group.
You also deepen your personal inner growth through repeating one of the Foundation workshops (Intensive or Deepening Spiritual Awareness).
Assessment is by means of a written report, reviewed with your assessor, reflecting on your inner growth during the training and how you have integrated your learning into your professional practice.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours: 68 hours (plus the Foundation workshop you repeat).

On successful completion of these activities, you will receive a certificate as a Certified Enneagram One-to-One Practitioner.

Who can attend?

You can attend this training if you:

have completed your Certified Typing Practitioner Training.
are already enrolled on or have completed training in counselling, coaching, psychotherapy, spiritual direction or another discipline where you accompany clients 1:1 on a growth journey.
have been a recipient of coaching/counselling/spiritual direction/psychotherapy etc for at least 6 sessions.
have been working with individual clients for at least 6 months and are actively working with at least 2 clients currently.
